Long Island Expressway Closures Scheduled For Nassau County: Here's When, Where
Transportation officials have announced a new set of closures affecting the Long Island Expressway.
Starting Monday, May 20, and lasting through Thursday, May 23, the eastbound Long Island Expressway will be closed in the following parts of Oyster Bay and Hempstead:
On Monday, May 20, Exit 34 (New Hyde Park Road) and Exit 36 (Searingtown Road) will be closed;
On Tuesday, May 21, Exit 37 (Willis Avenue) and Exit 39 (Glen Cove Road) will be closed; and
On Wednesday, May 22, and Thursday, May 23, Exit 39 (State Route 106) and Exit 41 (State Route 107) will be closed.

Scheduled roadwork could spell delays for Long Island drivers in the coming days.
Between Monday, May 6, and Friday, May 10, full overnight closures will impact the eastbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway in Huntington between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Drivers are asked to plan for the following eastbound closures:
On Monday, May 6, and Tuesday, May 7, at Exit 49 (State Route 110)
On Wednesday, May 8, and Thursday, May 9, between Exit 49 and Exit 50 (Bagatelle Road)
On Friday, May 10, between Exit 50 and Exit 51 (State Route 231)

New Traffic Pattern, Closures Announced On LIE In Oyster Bay
Both directions of the Long Island Expressway will be off-limits for construction, and the new traffic pattern is expected to last months, transportation officials said.
The New York State Department of Transportation announced that from Monday, Sept. 11 to Wednesday, Sept. 13, both directions of I-495 at Exit 48 will be closed in Oyster Bay and Huntington.
The closures, which are scheduled for 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting, are to establish the new work zone and traffic pattern for a bridge deck renewal project.
