Car Plows Through Home In Hunterdon County: Authorities
A car crashed into a home in Hunterdon County on the evening of Friday, April 19, authorities said. At 8:40 p.m. a Ford pickup truck was traveling on Charlestown Road in Hampton Borough when the driver lost control, striking the curb and crashing into an unoccupied residence at the intersection of Charlestown Road and New Street, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Palmyra's Beth Ann Timmons Fought Courageous Battle With Cancer, 48
Beth Ann Timmons, of Palmyra, died peacefully surrounded by her family on March 12 after a courageous battle with cancer, according to an obituary published by Weber Funeral Home. She was 48 years old. Beth was a lifelong area resident, growing up in Cinnaminson and was a graduate of Cinnaminson High School, her obituary said. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church in Riverton. Beth was very artistic and went on to attend The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. A 57-year-old man was found dead from a gunshot wound in his Colonia home on Monday after an hours-long standoff with police, authorities said. The man's identity has not been released by authorities, pending notification of his family. Fleeing Driver Crashes Vehicle Into Howell Police Car, Caught After Foot Chase
Howell police captured a man who crashed his vehicle into one of their cars and then tried to flee on foot, authorities said. What began as a motor vehicle stop became a pursuit and a crash around 8 p.m. Monday, police said in a Facebook post. They caught him after a brief foot chase, they said. A 59-year-old man remained in critical but stable condition Monday after falling through an elevator shaft in a Butler building while helping a person who had their hands stuck in the doors, authorities said. Person Struck, Killed By Metro-North New Haven Line Train
A person was struck and killed by a westbound Metro-North train. The incident took place around 5:50 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 15 on the New Haven/West Haven line, Metro-North officials said. The train #1513 from New Haven, has been canceled and combined with another line. Commuters are being told to listen for announcements at their station for replacements, connections. Woman, 21, Struck By SUV Near Long Island Elementary School
A 21-year-old woman received minor injuries after being struck by an SUV near an elementary school. The woman was struck about 8:50 p.m., Monday, Sept. 9, by a 2006 Ford Expedition on Broadway Avenue, near Merrimac Elementary School, in Holbrook, said the Suffolk County Police. A 50-year-old man was struck and killed by a Metro-North train Thursday night near Darien. According to Metro-North officials, the incident took place around 7:35 p.m. Dec. 13 at Noroton Heights.
