Sayreville Explosion Knocks Power To 4,300
An explosion in Sayreville injured one person and left some residents without power, police said. The explosion occurred about noon on Friday, May 24 near Main Street and Sayreville Boulevard, police said in a release. Sayreville police said a related fire was under control. Main Street was closed between Sayreville Blvd South and MacArthur Avenue. According to JCP&L, 4,300 customers were without power. There was no ETA on power restoration.

Man Convicted Of Robbing $20K Poker Winner In Atlantic City Casino Parking Garage
A Newark man was convicted of robbing someone who won $20,000 at an Atlantic City casino, authorities said. A jury found 51-year-old Robert Reed guilty on Monday, May 20 of second-degree robbery, third-degree aggravated assault, third-degree theft by unlawful taking, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon. Drag Racing Causes Route 1 Crash That Injures 2 In Edison
Drag racers on Route 1 led to a crash in Edison that seriously injured two people on Thursday, May 23, authorities said. Police were looking for two vehicles that may have contributed to the crash: a white Infiniti G35 and a black Honda Accord, according to police. Two people suffered broken bones as a result of the crash, police said. There were large traffic jams during an investigation of the crash.

A 61-year-old cocaine dealer was arrested in a New Jersey traffic stop after failing to use her turn signal, authorities said. Josephine Dimoplon became the center of an investigation with the Secaucus Police Department in early May, when a concerned citizen tipped them off to her alleged drug-dealing activities, Chief Dennis Miller said.
